Life Hacks to Living and Working with Traumatic Brain Injury

The human brain is an amazing organ, when it works. Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) are life-changing events for people that impact everything and everyone around them. People all around us are living with TBI. Many TBIs are mistaken for other issues and can be triggers for mental health issues. We'll break down the different types of TBIs and share hacks for how to move forward in a supportive, shared workplace or family environment.

Alicia and her husband, Adam, live just outside Hermantown, in Solway Township. They have two adult children, Logan and Laura. Alicia graduated from UMD with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a double minor in Marketing and International Studies. Shortly after starting her career in banking, she changed directions to be a working stay-at-home mom. She began her Direct Sales career while 8 months pregnant with Logan. With 24 years of direct sales under her belt, she has spent the last almost 15 years with Norwex as a Consultant and Leader. During this time, she was also a Girl Scout Co-leader for 11 years, a Boy Scout parent, a soccer mom, everything including DVSE President, Robotics and Lacrosse mom, a signer of all school paperwork, and the biggest cheerleader for both of her children. A year and a half ago, she added managing the Firefly Cafe as her role of parenting adjusted to parenting adults. These days, she is loving the empty nesting stage and spends as much time as she can outside hiking, camping, paddle boarding, kayaking, cross-country skiing, and going on walk n' talks with friends to keep their sanity.
